a new word every day.
Becoming senile,
I can't remember yesterday's
(also in The Guardian)...
but today's is audism,
whose adjective must be audistic
which is somewhat ironic
for this lip-reading kvetch,
telephonophobic
small-talk avoiding,
aspergerish and HoH.

HoH = Hard of Hearing.
I have never used the Yiddish word 'kvetch' before.
My first choice was 'wretch' .
The letter H is a shibboleth in Northern Ireland:
Protestants say 'aitch' while Catholics say 'haitch'.
By asking a native how to spell 'Houdini' you instantly know their religious background.
All this from an article in The Guardian !
By referring to yesterday's browsing history I find that yesterday's word was bloviate, which means 'to spout empty, pompous, self-aggrandising, political speech'.
