Señor Auban, this is off the topic, but does or did the Irish people have a royal family like the British? and are the Basques linguistically related to the Irish? Raul
Ireland has never been self-ruled by a single person. Before the Anglo-Normans gradually took it over in the 13th century and after, it was a conglomeration of "petty kingdoms" the size of Luxembourg or Liechtenstein, plus a few abbeys which controlled a lot of land. The Basques are related linguistically to nobody. Their language is pre-Indo-European.
