My uncelebrated grandfather

(I'm told) kept saying
as he got older and more complaining:
Just one more clean shirt will do me.

This was when shirts had detachable collars
and were worn for a week or two.
Perhaps my grandmother,
hopefully washing and ironing,
gave him a clean shirt each day.
