A pity the Romans did not have TV.
The odious Marcus Aurelius genocidal Roman Emperor and fake-philosopher, tycoon, financed spectacular gladiatorial "games" in which a hundred European lions (now unsurprisingly extinct) were slaughtered in one afternoon.

I've generally noticed that those who promote Stoicism tend to have very healthy bank balances and own a lot of property, whether it be Marucs Aurelius or Alain de Botton.
