#But the great Mr Darwin may have needed to examine one in order to fit it into his grand evolutionary scheme - which has released some of us from the obvious inconsistencies (nay, impossibilities) of the Book of Genesis.
The step-change in understanding that Mr Darwin made with evolution was quite good in making human being seem less self important and less obviously destructive of what they rely upon though appearances nearly always deceive, and there are many more steps to go. I am sure it would have been instructive if Mr Darwin could have unobtrusively observed the baboons when they were sobering up after his close examination of them, when drunk. It would have been an exercise in mutual empathy.
