The task of art today is to bring chaos into order.
But both the order and the chaos are false,
and the quip is falsely neat,
and most people
for most of history
and prehistory
have not had enough to eat.
The task of art today is to bring chaos into order.

I suspect Mr Adorno was paraphrasing the quote 'Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable' which is still far too pat, but at least it identifies the that there are the disturbed (the chaotic) and the comfortable (the orderly), albeit in all too orderly a way.
Your quotation is much better. But who wrote it ?
Mexican poet and short story writer Cesar A. Cruz.
One of the few rants against Saint Adorno I have seen.

And a vituperative rant it is, indeed. A pity, because a measured critique of Adorno would be worth reading.
