I am reminded of Jacques Derrida's brilliant comment (influenced by Hegel, of course) that was is "out" will eventually be "in" and what is "in" will eventually be "out." Unfortunately, all too true of his method of deconstruction, but then no one could do it like the master and Derrida's imitators were so tedious. My point is, however, a question of directionality--are the directions of in and out the same as upwards and downwards? As suggested in your blog, they would be.
