Ha! Ha! Do you imagine that Diogenes had any friends ???
I don't have any - just one semi-companion, and a few old acquaintances whom I never see. I shall probably die alone, and that will be fine.

¡ Pero No ! ( no tengo amigos )

Octave MIRBEAU, friend of Rodin and Monet, somewhat-pessimist writer who thought that men and women could never understand each other nor come to an understanding...

SOME MIRBEAU QUOTATIONS :

Man drags himself gasping from torture to torment, from the nothingness of life to the nothingness of death.

Why deny nothingness ? Why fear what we have already been ? Death is everywhere watching us - is it not death which is true freedom and utter peace ?

As for poets, philosophers, academic who torment their spirit in search of reason, the meaning of life, who express themselves in contradictions...they are phoneys or madmen. There is no meaning to life.

O brave and steadfast morality! what stupidities and crimes have been committed in your name!

....and some more:

Solitude does not consist in living alone; it consists in living with other people who take absolutely no interest in you.

The poor are the human manure in which grow the harvests of life, the harvests of joy which the rich reap bitterly and of course with utter ingratitude.

The greatest danger of a terrorist's bomb is in the explosion of stupidity that it provokes.
