Amy Golden
is seriously disabled due to infantile meningitis :
she can move only her right arm,
and cannot speak.
To hear her amusing
observations and comments on her life
(splendidly spoken from Amy's script
by Rhiannon Neads)
Señor Auban, Yes, she is a human being. But we are made to believe that if our bodies are not complete, we lose our condition as humans. Many would feel sorry for Amy Golden but deep down many people would not want to be in her situation. The more Amy Golden remains invisible, the better that invisibility soothes people´s conscience. Señorita Golden is very lucky because seventy years ago if she had been born in Germany, she would have been a candidate for the T4 program (euthanasia program). Raul
