Cannibal Nuns - not even !

All those illegitimate babies
born out of wedlock
that they starved and neglected
and mistreated in Catholic Ireland
weren't even eaten, but buried in sludge-pits.
They weren't even cannibal nuns,
just women whose minds
had been raped by religion.

I guess I was lucky having been conceived by rape in one of Ireland's larger Protestant enclaves (East Belfast). My mother had *only* to obtain false medical certificates to enable her to travel to England in the middle of World War Two, so she could give birth secretly and far away from her job as a teacher of infants.

I guess I was also lucky in the first year of my life in England not to be neglected, abused, malnourished or otherwise damaged.

But when is the Catholic Church going to acknowledge even a few of the millions of crimes (from *mere* child-abuse to genocide) that it has committed over the centuries ?

Never, never, never.
If there is a god, it is sheer evil.

The facts are there. Acknowledgement of them has been done by objective sources outside the institution. What is really horrible to my mind is the self-righteous mindset of all fundamentalists that allows, justifies, exonerates, and commits over and over outright crimes and tortures (the Inquisition was right up there in ingenuity). There is this belief one is entitled to do the unspeakable. That is what the Church must change, and to be frank, it is trying to do it--granted, far too late.
