Tristes mathématiques

How can any
- let alone every -
human life be 'sacred'
or even matter
when we number billions ?

Was having that very thought this morning. The illusion of value only comes from relative rarity. 10 billion projected for 2050, and if the Chinese lift their one-vermin only policy it'll go way beyond that!

There's another side to it, Anthony. How can any human life be sacred when its sheer existence only continually deteriorates the air and water around it?

And barring a very insignificant minority, most human life causes lifelong captivity and suffering for countless animals.
