I will 'go gentle

into that good night',
because I did not want
to come into the light,
of duty, obligation,
blame, responsibility,
bereavement,
hubris, despair, and all
the complicated kinds
of wrong and right
that eat into our porous minds.

Great poem. Often had the same thoughts myself.

Be a good citizen.
Be responsible.
Help the environment.
Work hard.
Save.
Be steadfast.
Don't despair.

Why? I signed up for none of this in the first place.
