For almost a day I've been reflecting on how afraid I am, and lo and behold, you just wrote about fear. Thanks for reminding me that I am afraid of what I already know.
Recently I read wonderful book about pogroms in Ukraine etc. and subsequent settlement of many Jews in New York: THE ANGEL MAX by PETER GLASSGOLD. Shortly after reading that, I read a splendid book about the anti-anarchist hysteria (amounting almost to a pogrom) in the USA in the 1890s, and also mentioning "Red" Emma Goldman: THE LAZARUS PROJECT written in English by a Bosnian refugee. It was from the latter book that I got the idea about fear.
