in which the dying lay in neat rows
on top of
the dying and the dead...
nor was there mass-rape,
though for Palestinians
there was no escape.
But Gaza has been, nevertheless,
one of the world's great ghettoes
where 'from time immemorial
much tribal blood has been shed.
