However, since writing this, I was given a smartphone with a cracked screen and without a sim. I didn't throw it in the bin because I discovered that it has an amazing camera. So I threw my little nifty Nikon in the bin, instead.
Yesterday's photo was a smartphone-snapshot.
A application (sounds like a request for a job, or an ointment) I downloaded was Plantfinder with which I have identified 3 plants already. A sim is not required because the photos can be interpreted via the wifi at home. Talking of which, I was upgraded (for free) to fibre...which turns out to be no faster than the broadband I had. Still good value, though, at 20 euros/dollars a month, including landline. But, as you've gathered, I don't have much use for a talkie phone.
