Woke up this morning*...

the first thought that came to me
was I can't believe that I'm one year short of 83.

I feel that I'm 12 years old
during a school holiday
with a slight pain in my knee.

Actually I have hardly 'grown up' at all since I was about 16, hence did not realise until quite recently that people adopt masks and project false personalities most of the time.

I do consider myself as ‘age fluid’. Some days I am 45. I can also be 75. Especially when it rains.

I think we expect to feel old, and tend to block any 'young' feelings we might actually have, especially after a glass or two of Krug (Brut), or even a just-baked slice or two of bread. And when the sun is shining through the trees...
