certainly is.
Affection, fondness
caring appreciation,
best-friendship
all mean more than love,
especially when combined,
and nothing to do with 'sex'
or (horrible expression!) 'getting laid'
which sounds so similar to 'getting paid'...
(though, I guess, there's nothing wrong with that
so long as love does not get up off the mat.)
