The Big Lie of Binarism.
After World War Two, we in 'The West' were 'brainwashed' to believe that Russia was Bad and the USA was Good. And so we were 'brainwashed' to behave like the Babes in the Wood.
Would the wood the babes are in be the Bretton Woods by any chance? The Bretton Woods Agreement being the name given to the 1944 international financial agreement where delegates of 44 Allied countries met, where the dollar was pegged to the value of gold and the IMF and the world bank were created? If that was the woods we were in, then the scenery did not remain stable for long. The dollar ceased to be pegged to the value of gold a mere thirty years after the agreement. As world institutions the IMF and world bank were of dubious help too, they nearly always created national levers for making the poor poorer and the rich richer...
The binary before the Bretton Woods agreement was one where authoritarian states made out that they sure they were seen as liberals, relatively speaking, and other authoritarian states were more authoritarian than they were and must be kept at a distance.
