As I write this I am downloading
a British TV series (A Spy Among Friends)
in little parcels from computers in Latvia, Lithuania,
Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Israel, Bulgaria, France,
Ukraine, Moldova, Thailand and Kazakhstan.
They come and go, like friends, or spies.
This, I suppose, is the most-attenuated form of friendship,
or as much community of interest as I can expect.
