Science tells us continually
how rational and successful we are.
Literature worries continually
at and about our tragic (often ludicrous)
irrationality.

I'm struggling to think. Specifically of any scientists who have or had 'literary' talents (by which I mean something other than non-fiction popularisations of their field of knowledge, or 'formulaic' crime or sci-fi pulp fiction). An interesting dualism to ponder (although for a proselytising monist that comes close to heresy).
