On the other hand, the catastrophe could be simply economic. The whole world of trade is a three-dimensional spider-web, and just one or two events could break it. One might be a No-Deal Brexit precipitating a global recession, for example. In which case we should cheer on the dangerous, neo-fascist lunatics who are seizing power in Britain and the USA.
