In Europe.

For hunger
there are Food-banks, Restaurants du Cœur.

For thirst
there are ponds and puddles.

For sleeping
there are derelict buildings
abandoned cars.

For dying
there is everywhere.

I'm afraid, every time I naively drank from rivers here around the Alps I did end up with diarrhea with vomiting, and once with hepatitis A. It is far more reasonable to drink from
the water supply in cow stables, or to sneak into gardens and to drink from the hose.

But of course, you do speak of ponds and puddles. I surmise you must have had only good experiences with them? A fresh rain water puddle without an oily rainbow on top of it, might be something I should give a try. I am not sure about the ponds though.

Well, ponds are probably better than puddles. Lakes and rivers will almost certainly be polluted. But some public water supplies come from deep artesian wells, and the water has been filtered through rock over thousands of years.
Perhaps mountainside waterfalls are the best >
