True, work for money is killing most people, but, you yourself, Auban, are an example of work for fun, enjoyment, curiosity, passion, and, yes, even excitement and compulsion. You would argue that the pursuit of your interests and creativity is hardly work. But it is. Your vegetarianism, perhaps the sanest form of hygiene on the planet, is also killing you "slowly." Here, most definitely, I do get the "irony" of both our comments.
Well, Marcus, like many words, work has several aspects of meaning. There is Work which is merely employment, drudgery for money; there is Work which is an exciting or interesting project; there is pleasant employment-work which is not drudgery; there is the Work which is non-work and is managerial, consisting of meetings, reports on meetings, plans for meetings and so on; there is healthy physical activity like planting trees; there is 'soulwork' and work on improving one's behavior or attitude; there is the love-work of helping people, stimulating their interest9s), raising a child...and so on.
