Married people with kids

are wont to tell us how rewarding children are,
but do not mention that conversations
within the offsprings' hearing
are self-censored for many years,
thus demonstrating that the family
is an inherently dishonest entity.

Indeed. No secret society can hold a candle to parents in concealing secrets. In this case, the latter hiding the bad news about life, be it specific things or in general, from their spawn.

As a parent, I can tell you the secrecy goes both ways, but that does not make a family an inherently dishonest entity.
