Ryan Calo, Professor of law at Washington
university, points out the difference between the thought processes of advanced robots with
artificial intelligence, and those of humans.
A robot would view the image of a clown offering free hugs
as positive and friendly
(Hugs = good; Free = good; Clown = good),
whereas people would almost certainly not be enthusiastic
about hugging the clown,
because of all sorts of (especially modern) negative
and quite subtle cultural associations.
