Floating in the blood-baths,
alongwith millions of raped and refugee
are the remnants of Babylonians, Sumerians,
Assyrians, Phoenicians, Canaanites,
Hittites, Nubians, Fellaheen, Jews,
Medes, Persians, Romans,
Greeks, Arabs, Turks...
all of them bruisers of landscape.
