were sent to 'Psychiatric Hospitals' in the nineteen-sixties
(and possibly later)
at the Center of the Free World
at the height of the Cold War
after telling psychiatrists that they admired
Allen Ginsberg's ranting poem Howl!
Some of them were given electro-convulsive therapy
and never recovered.
