Speaking of which, Canada got all the worst Scotland had to send, without the controls that kept them in check in the parent country... Sigh...
It has to be said that many of the Scots (as well as English) sent to Canada were sent as child-drudges. Likewise to Australia - right up to the 1970s.Scotland's best maybe went to Southland, Aroatoa (New Zealand)...
