Refusing the train, converting the station.

When they left the crushingly dull institution
my school-friends boarded career-trains
and sped or slowly pulled away
and continued along, along -
tickety-pack, clickety-clack.

I got as far as a platform,
which I turned into a cosy
little house and garden
and never went further,
never turned back.

Dear Anthony

Would you recommend turning away from the path of ambition and pursuing a career?

Wonderful blog. A small drop of refreshing candidness, clarity of vision and plain common sense in a world that increasingly disturbs.

Thank you

Ambition is living death. Where do you think that the idea of zombies came from ?

From experience, agreed. A certain company I (unfortunately) know well seems to seek to supplant employees' will with its own. I would be interested to hear your opinion on the following video which has been the latest attempt by said company: http://vimeo.com/ondemand/ouricebergismelting/7476169 (click view trailer). This is only a charming segment from the original 10 minutes, but certainly gives a good flavour.
