We think better of the dead

than we do of the living.
Although this tendency
was always so, nowadays
we live not only in a culture of blame,
but worse - a culture of no-praise.

But of course it is not *real* praise that you're talking about, Jindřich.

That kind of praise - dispensed so automatically and so hypocritically - is just social grooming, meaningless ritual.
