A Short Sunday Sermon

On the one hand,
you might say that crime began
in the limbo of cities,
not in a garden, not with a woman,
not with a snake, but with
malnourished, deracinated
desperate men.

On the other hand,
you might say that crime began
with the fence around
the Garden of Eden.
