Esprit de l'Escalier

Two things I could have said to the Airport Security martinet:
"Stalin's servants had no sense of humour, either."

And in reply to her mendacious "We do this for your safety.":
"My father died in WW2 for a future generation of SS hopefuls like you."

It was probably good that I did not say either of those things,
for against 'Security' people
inflated by their mere replaceability,
one cannot win.
