In the British Isles it is very easy
to change one's name officially.
I have never liked my surname
(which is that of my maternal grandfather
who was hated by his family
for his sheer, Victorian hypocrisy) -
but I can't decide whether all my future
documents will be signed
Diogenes Xavier Antichrist
or Demerara Cane Sugar
(natural and unrefined).
