is my sort of game:
much more fun than football
on a wet February afternoon.
In the 1950s I enjoyed Canasta,
Bézique, Mah Jongg and even
Snakes and Ladders.
I tried at school to learn to fence,
but, of course, had no co-ordination.
Often I could not even hit the ball
with a tennis racquet.
Games I might have watched
if I had owned a TV set
could have included badminton, tennis, snooker,
basketball, ski-jumping (whatever that is)
and curling on ice (I have seen the stones
being made, on video).
Now the only game I'll play (not watch)
is Dead Man's Bones.
