In my 'Science Fiction'

(or 'Utopic') novel,
human males will all be sterile

(I'm working on the virus now)

and will spend their time turning guns into sex-toys,
growing vegetables and cannabis,
and making love to each other.

Women in my novel will be doing
whatever they want
(except breeding) while also
overseeing our happy demise -
beyond property, beyond family,
beyond morality, beyond progress
- as pleasantly as possible,
especially for other species.

'Loved Ones'

a recently invented phrase
(to put with 'on a daily basis')
sounds like a bad translation
from the German.
What's wrong with
'friends and family'
which we used to say, or,
more accurately,
'nearest and/or dearest' ?

There may be one or two

leaders (not necessarily tribal war-lords)
who don't apply deodorant - nevertheless
the world is being made a hell
by people who don't like their smell.

The most important difference

between bonobos and us
is that they are not addicted
to aspiration and anxiety
- the evolutionary flaw
with which we are afflicted.

Rationality

A rat has much more reason
to fear a human being -
twenty times larger than itself
and carrying terrible diseases
- than a human has
to fear a rat.

Anders Behring Brevik

False outsiders
become unhappy fascists.
Real outsiders
remain happily alone.

1971 / 2011

I wrote in my diary
repeatedly
that I loved her
-then him - then him -
then him...dearly...
But now I don't know what
that kind of love is,
can't see the difference
between it and the radiant fog
of infatuation.

But I've never been merely
infatuated with a dog.

Meat

is cellulose
flavoured with blood.
Look:
no rivers - just
trickles of mud.

Strange

that the Golden Age
of the English Novel
should happen just before
the Fall...

As for poetry,
I see only mine:
a loaded water-pistol
against
enarmoured ignorance.

Gangs

How many thousands
of kids are there
who feel safe
only outside their homes ?

Looters

When nothing matters
you can do anything.

Ogres

can't be worse
than the worst humans.
As a child
I longed to know one.

The function of money

is to circulate, not to lie perniciously in banks.
The poor make money circulate.
The rich hoard it to make more money
which moves merely between financial institutions
and their dodgy minions -
though tiny sums are sometimes lent
as 'venture capital' and less tiny sums are
lent to governments
to buy more tanks.

People who talk to God

are said to be 'praying'
and treated with a curious
and spurious respect.
People who talk of God
talking to them
are said to be schizoid
if not schizophrenic
and made to take
dangerous drugs.

In olden times

it wasn't rare for a wedding
to end in a brothel.

Now it is not at all uncommon
for a marriage to end in divorce.

Remembering

is the impossible task
of re-assembling an
incomplete corpse.

Mere facts are not necessarily
the truth.

Nobody looted

Ye Olde Sagacity Shoppe
whose First Day Promotional
loss-leader in dump-bins ran:
What you get from school
is pus on the brain. Then
you ooze off into marriage
and quick decomposition.
All leaders are losers
who fuck your brains
to get Position.

This, of course, was addressed
not to the Compulsory Underclass
but to the bridling bourgeoisie.

A product of capitalism

The sterilised milk of bovine misery
dumped in a sewer by human discontent.

Thursday 11 August 2011

Social Progress

The rich used to let the poor die
of disease, hunger and the wars
between the rich.
Now the rich want to keep the poor alive
to breed more poor.
Hence the profitable, world-wide
Overseas Aid Industry.

All those years

at school mostly wasted
in acquiring ill-fitting
triviality : how we infantilise
our young!

Larkin muses on Dickinson

Man hands on arrogance to man
and work - the toad - is what
we justify it with - "because we can".
A toad can die of light - indeed -
so let's illuminate our greed.

Saturday 6 August 2011

'The poor are always with us'

because the rich would not be rich
and powerful without the poor
and disempowered.

The poor must live within their means
even when they have no means.
The rich are rich on credit,
and always with us, too,
betting on the labour of the poor.

Choosers and Beggars

Ever since I was able to exercise
the privilege of choice
in the death-camp of distraction
I've chosen what others would not
- which is why I am a well-fed
state-dependent beggar.

The dead are kept away from sight
not just because they rot.

Thursday 4 August 2011

Homo sapiens sapiens

as a species
could be what it wants
to be. And what it seems
to want is robotic slavery
- to robots.
Thus we invented
Heaven and Hell,
and chose Hell.
Thus we, who are moral hulks,
tell ourselves we're
in control - but are
merely frantic slaves of cults.

Read just one book

and you may acquire insight.
Read ten thousand books
and you may remain
as stupid as anyone else.
