Although I learned basic Latin
taught sadlybadly at my badmad school
I was long past being employable
when I first encountered the letters CV
which stand for curriculum vitæ
and suggest to me nothing more than
a little rush of sperm (cursiculum semenis ?)
seeking an egg to fertilise.
currus : a course ; currere : to run
curriculum : a brief run-down or sum-up
[PIE *kers = to run
which also gives us carriage]
