Bad decisions

frequently result in poverty.
More importantly,
poverty often leads to bad decisions.
Who can blame the poor
and "welfare scroungers"
for being opportunist,
when the raison d'être of the rich
is ruthless opportunism ?

[The poorest Americans spend up to 70% of their income on rent
  and get no federal assistance. In the UK poor people spend up to 50%,
  but most of them are eligible for welfare benefits.
  2.8 million Americans are currently threatened with eviction.
  90% of landlords use attorneys. 90% of 'evictims' cannot.]

I remember as a child when I was often told in Spanish that (el que no trabaja, roba y el que roba mata) he who does not work, steals and he who steals kills). This expression is only applied to the wretched and not to those in power. Just look at the current President of Paraguay, Horacio Cartes Jara. Be safe. Raúl
