Try reading this encomium on the flaccid penis--the way it is most of our lives--written by a mainline Christian Protestant theologian (Lutheran, I think), James B. Nelson in an essay "Embracing Masculinity" included in Sexuality and the Sacred, p.201, as one way to discover, revel in, and delight in our human humanity. It is a mind-blow, considering where the essay comes from and where it goes.
