Dingo the Dissident

A certain Dr Peters

thinks we have three components to our mind:
Chimpanzee, Human and Computer.
He left out the fourth - the Loony.
He has (of course) written a 'self-help'
book to join the thousands of others
and make some money -
groom his Inner Chimpanzee.
It is called
The Chimp Paradox: The Mind Management Programme
to Help You Achieve Success, Confidence and Happiness.

You see ?

Well, anyone who thinks that mind
can be 'managed' and that happiness
can be 'achieved' is certainly a loony,
and likely dangerous.

Changing your mind is not mind-management - indeed Dr Peters would agree !

My mind is mostly happy chimpanzee (bonobo).

How can some of your gloomy observations come from a "happy chimpanzee" mind ?
And that is my point.
Initially bonobo, but mind-managed by you into a "doom".

'Gloomy' is a very subjective term. My observations may make you feel gloomy, but they come from a very healthy person who, at the age of 71, and looking very much forward to death, has not a single pain, and never been happier.

Moreover, I get a great kick out of writing my blog. I have fun preaching doom, and if you read the blogs carefully you will find (as others have found) a lot of sardonic humour in them. If they depresses you, don't read it. Read Jindra's instead.

It may be that you are like a good, moral, consciencious priest of non-religious kind preaching to us poor sinners.
Look at me, I am happily looking forward to die and you, miserable sinners (especially the Americans) are clinging to your unproductive lives. And I have fun saying that.

I never said your writings depress me.
And there is no reason to mock The Notes.

Think what you will - I certainly am no fan of 'productiveness'. We have far too much of it destroying the rain forests, poisoning the seas and rivers, etc.
But, as the great Diogenes said, Nothing must remain unmocked. What cannot resist mockery is worthless.
And of course I am a sinner. Just by breathing. see my web-page on Original Sin - www.beyond-the-pale.co.uk/original.htm

Thank you for enlivening my day!

Loony, but not dangerous. said...

Mind management is the key by Dr. Swayam Vishvas.

When we are afflicted with a disease like malaria, we don't treat each symptom like fever, pain and shivering, one by one. We just treat the disease and the symptoms automatically vanish. So deal directly with the mind and symptoms like stress and strain will disappear.

to Loony, but not dangerous - Are you saying that the mind is a disease ? That is certainly an idea worth exploring. I rather think that human consciousness is not in the best of health...

to Jindra What challenges are you referring to ? I identified only wounded ego.

In my original blog I said nothing like that. In one of my comments I said I was never happier - merely in reply to a stupid question:

'How can some of your gloomy observations come from a "happy chimpanzee" mind.

As if 'mind' and 'observations' were identical or in tandem! (How can shit come out of a beautiful arse ?)

We seem to be commenting on comments, which not only tedious, but puerile.

You will get nowhere with Mr.Weir. His "happy chimpanzee mind" is set.
He knows and you are just annoying visitors.

Dear 'observer',
Very succinctly put.

Moreover, I have no time for people who write while cowering behind the dazzling coat-tails of anonymity. This is the greatest inbuilt defect of the Web.
