Snow-blindness

It's snowing !
Snow-crystals are the nearest
that many folk will get
to the Milk of Human Kindness.

auban,

Enjoy nature while you can. I'm too depressed to write much about it now, but I wanted to send you this information about fracking, another great and poisonous export from the USA, Inc.

This drilling procedure destroys ground water, plant and animal life, air quality, enjoyment of the natural world. I'm afraid the only way rotten humans will pay attention to this is when they find out their homes and property can become greatly devalued. Some have had to walk away from their homes, losing everything, because of the contamination from chemicals used.

Here is a short clip called Fracking Hell: The Untold Story:

And here's a link to the entire Gasland documentary, which gives a good introduction to the corruption involved.

This is the ultimate nightmare in which humans will destroy their own home (if we don't blow ourselves up first).

I don't care about the humans. We suck. It's the innocent animals who make my heart bleed.

Here's just one of many articles about fracking that the Guardian has done. The comments are always worth reading.

This brand of drilling is not like regular drilling of the past. It's been promoted by the devil himself, Cheney and his Halliburton Corp. He made sure that this process could legally circumvent the Clean Water Act and that oil companies do not have to divulge the chemicals used.

I didn't mean to highjack your site, but it's obvious how much you love mother earth herself.

Thanks, Janus. I had been pushing the Fracking facts into the back of my mind, because it is already overloaded with Bad Human Stuff.
What can we do ? The only possible action would be to boycott petroleum products, which means, really, joining the Mennonites or similar religious freaks. I hardly think the millions will do this...

So we just have to sit at the edge of time looking into the abyss and smiling - because this is what stupid evolution led to : it's life itself (based on struggle) which is insane, if only because it is sheer freakery.
