By any standard of Science, falsehood over provable fact as a standard for government in a democracy is a betrayal of the people. Indeed that is shaking things up. The US press is pressing their First Amendment constitutional prerogative--they are standing up to him, and so is the people majority. Trump's already failing--he's not yet President--and there are news stories about desperate, despairing voters who regret their votes. But the future drama is not pretty. You say it so well: "[it] is going to be as difficult as watching him fail."Marcus Billsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11308066836427766909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3577091962812282559.post-78445111234184475692016-12-21T03:51:09.836-08:002016-12-21T03:51:09.836-08:00It is true to say that whilst European broadcaster... It is true to say that whilst European broadcasters have broadcast in full some of the presidential campaign speeches of Donald trump on the many rolling news channels, most people in Europe would rather be spoon fed their own vomit than be tied to a chair and forced to watch, listen to, and take in the value of, an entire speech by Mr Trump (or Hilary for that matter). His speeches were broadcast in America to be broken into smaller chunks for the news channels around the world to sell (more local) advertising with. In their fabulism the speeches were designed in part to merge with the adverts they would eventually co-promote. That is the way of the media. The collective bile of an entire speech would be all too horrible to contemplate. Many millions across the world don't go to live political events, which by definition are partisan and 'for the party faithful', so even if any of us did attend a presidential campaign speech of any sort, then reason and critical faculties would go by the board. Some critics of Trump compare him with Adolf Hitler, and say that both were/are charismatic liars. The percentage of Mr Trump's speeches that were lies averaged out at, what, 73% ? I wonder what percentage of lies fact checkers would find retrospectively in Adolf Hitler's speeches, they can be read to find out-they were bound in 1941 as the official follow up to 'Mein Kamph'.... But Trump has now been accepted by The Electoral College as President of the USA, so the damage will continue. The Liberal consensus will continue to be broken and he already has his own tame privately owned media through which to make every story he tells his version of events, and everyone other media outlet's version wrong. That is what shaking things up is proving to be.

The one thing I wish for I cannot have; to be brief, right, and prove to whoever needs it proved to them that Donald Trump is more wrong than ever he admits he is. Standing up to him as president is going to be as difficult as watching him fail. Bearzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11288030980271753436noreply@blogger.com
