The 'How-are-you' / 'Ça va' ? thing

that Aspies hate.

I startled my rarely-seen
never-visited, closest neighbours
as they passed today
by replying that old age
was turning out to be
surprisingly, sexlessly joyous,

though I had forgotten their names.
