A pity the Romans did not have TV.

The odious Marcus Aurelius
genocidal Roman Emperor
and fake-philosopher, tycoon,
financed spectacular
gladiatorial "games"
in which a hundred European lions
(now unsurprisingly extinct)
were slaughtered in one afternoon.

  1. I've generally noticed that those who promote Stoicism tend to have very healthy bank balances and own a lot of property, whether it be Marucs Aurelius or Alain de Botton.
