Is it possible that you are in France in a more southern latitude than northern Florida and northern Alabama, both of whose leaves have turned from verdant green to the brown, red, and gold I saw driving through them three days ago? Your leaves are turning but they still look a lot greener than what I traveled through.

  3. No, Marcus, because of the Gulf Stream there is no climate-equivalence of latitude between Western Europe and North America, especially continental North America. Scotland is the same latitude as Labrador, yet, on the West Coast, can host sub-tropical plants.
