Today is "Democracy Day"

on BBC Radio 4 (the national service for the UK).
In the discussions, features and lectures throughout the day
it is unlikely that anyone will voice the simple truth:
that the chief enemy of democracy - because it is
the chief enemy of liberty - is hierarchy.
