The Crime of Israel


Instead of wreaking justified revenge
upon the Europeans who hounded, tortured,
terrorised and slaughtered them for
a thousand years, Jews wreak it
on the Palestinians who never
did them any harm,
and might have been their friends.

    i must contest
    that if the "Palestinians might have been their friends"
    they would indeed be their friends

    as for the harm they never did
    perhaps it wasn't the jews
    but themselves
    that they harmed
    when they harmed that potential
    for friendship
