Just deserts

If Gaia was so misguided
as to evolve us,
then, I have to say,
reluctantly and sadly,
she pretty well deserves
what we're doing to her.

    maybe it wasn't her that was responsible?
    maybe she was so beautiful and so gullible that she provided a home for maladjusted homeless strays?
    but possessed of free will, i think we probably are responsible.
